The second day we sail along the south-side of Skopelos to the east and make one or two stops along the the way. Lunch is served on board and in the afternoon we sail around the eastern tip of Skopelos into the main harbour at Skopelos town. Ample time is provided to visit the town and admire the architecture of churches and buildings, and enjoy a drink in one of the numerous tavernas.
On day three we lift anchor around 9 o'clock and set sail for Alonissos. There we anchor for lunch in Kokkino Castro (literally: the Red Castle). The name is derived from the colour of the rocks that surround the bay, which have a deep-red colour that contrasts wonderfully with the clear waters in the bay. In the afternoon we head for Votsi, a small fisherman-hamlet where the Nidri is well known and where we spend the evening with our Greek friends.
Day four brings us to an uninhabited island, Skantzoura. We spend the afternoon on this deserted island, and take a hike to the old abandoned monastery and the little church that is maintained by the fishermen. From the top of the hills we have an unforgettable view on the surrounding Egean sea. We organise a barbecue on the beach (optional) and enjoy the night away from civilisation.
