According to an ancient myth, two giant brothers, Otos and Efialtis, when they were children, tried to make a ladder to the sky by placing mountain Pelion on top of mountain Ossa and Ossa on top of mountain Olympus.

Playing on the beach, they exercised their arms, skipping small pebbles across the water surface. From those pebbles, the Sporades were created. Nowadays, the Nidri sails between these islands...
